MusicWeb International (Recording of the Month)

"...CDs of Kapustin are far too rare and it is a delight to welcome this one...This is glorious playing and wondrous music-making from the NPM team. The recording balance takes no prisoners...You’ll need a lie-down or a work-out after this! Kapustin rocks!..."

ClassicsToday (Artistic Quality 10 / 10 Sound Quality)

"...Pianists Daniel del Pino and Ludmil Angelov play with uninhibited gusto, while the duo Neopercusión provides an irresistible rhythmic impetus. Really, it's impossible to recommend this music highly enough: Kapustin is one of contemporary music's most original and distinctive voices...This is one of the most enjoyable and worthwhile discs of contemporary music to come along is quite a while. Don't miss it!"

American Record Guide (May/June 2011)

"...The speed, virtuosity, and jazz harmonies create an unmistakable hard bop sensibility. The frenetic patches sometimes give way to luxuriant stretches, where the music shifts to a mood highly reminiscent of jazz ballads...Both Del Pino and Angelov mostly prove themselves to be up to the challenge of this difficult music..."

Audiophile Audition (Five Stars)

"...Most of Kapustin’s music is quite spectacular, but this concerto - with its two percussionists - really hits you in the solar plexus....The excellent surround sonics contribute to one’s involvement in the work... Exciting Album..." (Five Stars on Perfomance / Five Stars on Sound)

"...The 'Non Profit Music' label is gaining a solid reputation for issuing SA-CDs with unusual repertoire. Here is another one...This is very approachable and often exciting music, inventive and quite unpredictable in its switches of mood and motion...The double piano concerto and percussion group are presented in a full surround 'stage' mode...the surround sound recording of the two piano concerto is one of the best and most convincing 'stage' productions I have yet encountered...Recommended!"
