Ara Malikian

Extremadura Symphonic Orchestra

Ara Malikian, Susana Cordón and Daniel del Pino

Non Profit Music Chamber Orchestra

This summer begins with lots of late news, presented below in chronological order:

The B3 Classic Trio will appear in “Los Conciertos de La 2”, TVE, next September 7th and 14th. They will premiere works by Kahn, Juon, Hartmann, Gyrowetz.

Our Non Profit Music record label is going to deal with many of the new publications in the new Hybrid SACD Multi-Channel format. This will guarantee compatibility with CD players and will allow audiophiles to enjoy the quality of 5.1 Multi-Channel. This way, fruits of the collaboration with the Extremadura Symphony Orchestra and its conductor Jesús Amigo, we will see very soon the publication in this format of the Concert for Violin and Orchestra and the Masquerade Suite by Aram Khachaturian (1903-1978), performed by Ara Malikian.

Ara Malikian together with the soprano Susana Cordón, the pianist Daniel del Pino and the Non Profit Music Chamber Orchestra will raise the publication of the orchestra’s third work. They will work on the project from next September 14th, when the rehearsals will start, until October 15th, when the recording will end. Its name will be 12 Seasons and it will include a Spanish American view of the four seasons with these pieces: Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas (Four Seasons of Buenos Aires) by Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) for violin and string orchestra; Las Cuatro Estaciones de Mallorca (Four Seasons of Mallorca) by Joan Valent (1964-) for violin, piano and string orchestra and, finally, Cuatro Estaciones Tristes Sobre Madrid (Four Sad Seasons Over Madrid) by Jorge Grunman (1961-) for soprano, violin, piano and string orchestra.

Ara Malikian

Non Profit Music Chamber Orchestra

It is a great pleasure for us to be nominated at the 2008 Spanish Music Awards, in its 12th edition, for the Best Classical Music Performer for “Meeting with a Friend”; and also to be the only Spanish orchestra going in for this award. It will be for us a source of satisfaction of a job well done even if we do not finally receive such an honour. The result will be announced next April 3rd at the Manuel Delibes auditorium of Valladolid.
