IV World AIDS Day Concert

Our fourth World AIDS Day Concert will take place next Tuesday December the first. Ara Malikian and Daniel del Pino will present MINDS and other pieces of the twentieth century for violin and piano. The concert will be held in the Chamber Hall of the Auditorio Nacional de Música of Madrid at 19:30.

Three Portraits With Shadow

Extremadura Symphony Orchestra


A concert will be held next September 17th at the Palacio de Congresos of Badajoz in order to present the last work by the mezzo-soprano Lola Casariego and the Extremadura Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jesús Amigo. This project, in Super Audio CD format too, includes world premiere recordings of pieces by three composers from Madrid: Julián Bautista (1901-1961), Ernesto Halffter (1905-1989) and Rodolfo Halffter (1900-1987). Exclusively and in aid of Medicus Mundi, copies of the CD will be available at the concert. It will be on sale from the middle of October 2009.

World AIDS Day Concert

Non Profit Music Chamber Orchestra


On the occasion of the awareness campaign carried out by Doctors Without Borders in the World AIDS Day, a concert will be held the first of December at 19:30, in the Chamber Hall of the Auditorio Nacional of Madrid. It will not be possible to gain access to the hall once the concert has started. The concert is sponsored by CHI & Partners and will be recorded by RTVE.

 

The name of the concert is the 12 Seasons. It includes the work by Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas (Four Seasons of Buenos Aires), scored by Leonid Desyatnikov (1962-) for violin and string orchestra; the work by Joan Valent (1964-) Cuatro Estaciones de Mallorca (Four Seasons of Mallorca), for violin, piano, percussion and string orchestra and the work by Jorge Grundman (1961-) Cuatro Estaciones Tristes Sobre Madrid (Four Sad Seasons Over Madrid), for soprano, violin, piano and string orchestra. The concert will count on the collaboration of Susana Cordón and Daniel del Pino.

 

The tickets are already available at the box offices of the Auditorio Nacional, Teatro María Guerrero, Teatro de la Zarzuela, Teatro Pavón and ServiCaixa.

World AIDS Day Concert

Chamber Music Discoveries


A concert in aid of Medicus Mundi will be held next December 4th at 19:30 in the Conde Duque auditorium of Madrid. The concert will also serve as awareness campaign in the World AIDS Day.

 

Entrance is free until all seats are occupied. However, it is necessary to collect the invitation at the headquarters of Medicus Mundi in the dates that will be announced at this Web page. Besides the concert, the CD Chamber Music Discoveries of the B3 Classic Trio, published by Warner Music, will be available at a special price. The benefit of the sale will be set aside for Medicus Mundi. The concert will start at 19:30. It will not be possible to gain access to the hall once the concert has started.

 

The concert will basically include the works contained in the CD, concerning the recovery of the works of the composer Robert Kahn as well as other works by the composers Febland, Newton, Grundman and Johnstone. All the pieces are contemporary and tonal.

World Refugee Day Concert

A concert will be held in aid of Doctors Without Borders next Saturday June 16th at 19:30 in the Chamber Hall of the Auditorio Nacional de Música of Madrid. The concert will also serve as awareness campaign for the World Refugee Day. For this reason, besides the concert, the new CD Meeting with a friend will be on sale at a special price. The benefit obtained from the CD sale will be set aside for Doctors Without Borders. Tickets are already on sale in the “Red de Teatros del INAEM”, in the Auditorio Nacional, by telephone sale in the number 902 33 22 11 (Servicaixa) and by Internet in www.servicaixa.com (cliking “Música”, “Madrid”, “Sála de Cámara” and “Concierto Solidario 2007”).

 

Most of the program of the Concert matches the new work Meeting with a friend and includes the following pieces:

All the works belong to one of these categories: premiere in Madrid, premiere in Spain or world premiere. As usual, this one is extremely moving music by contemporary composers.





The Solidarity Concert 2006 took place March 2006 at the Auditorio Nacional de Música of Madrid. It was the presentation of the young Non Profit Music Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Ara Malikian. It achieved an unprecedented public success for contemporary music:
